Equinexus Partners

Privacy

How we handle your information.

We collect as little as possible, use it only for the reason you gave it to us, and protect it carefully.

Who we are

Equinexus Partners is an advisory practice and intellectual platform operating from the United Kingdom, Kenya and Zimbabwe, at equinexuspartners.com. Our company registration details are set out on our company information page.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, and equivalent laws in Kenya and Zimbabwe, Equinexus Partners is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us about anything in it by writing to info@equinexuspartners.com.

What information we collect

We collect only what you choose to give us, plus limited technical information needed to serve the site.

  • Contact enquiries. Your name, email address, organisation, role, area of interest and the content of your message.
  • Newsletter subscriptions. Your email address and, optionally, your first name.
  • Programme applications. The details you provide in your application.
  • Technical information. Information your browser sends when it requests a page, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is handled by our hosting provider as part of delivering and securing the site.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or rent your information.

Website analytics

We do not currently run any third-party analytics or measurement tools on this website. If we introduce analytics in future, we will only load it after you have agreed to optional cookies, and we will update this notice to name the provider before it goes live.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies and similar technologies are small files or storage entries placed on your device. We use only those strictly necessary to deliver a secure, working website, together with a record of the cookie choice you make so that we do not ask you again on every visit.

Optional cookies, including any future analytics, are not set unless you agree to them in the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will bring the banner back.

Why we use your information

  • to respond to your enquiry or application and hold the conversation that follows;
  • to send you the updates and thinking you asked to receive;
  • to administer our relationship with clients, partners and programme participants;
  • to keep the website secure, available and working properly;
  • to meet our legal, regulatory and professional obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Lawful bases for processing

Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases.

  • Consent for newsletter subscriptions and for any optional cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests for responding to enquiries, running and securing our website, and managing our professional relationships. We balance these interests against your rights and expectations.
  • Contract where we are taking steps at your request before entering an engagement, or performing one.
  • Legal obligation where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.

Service providers and processors

We keep the number of suppliers small. Enquiries and newsletter subscriptions submitted through this site are stored in our managed database and hosting platform, which processes this information on our instructions. We also use email services to correspond with you and to send updates.

Providers act as processors under written terms, may only use the information to deliver their service to us, and may not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. A current list of the providers we use is available on request by writing to info@equinexuspartners.com.

International transfers

We operate across the United Kingdom, Kenya and Zimbabwe, and some of our providers process information outside the country you are in. Where personal information is transferred out of the United Kingdom, we rely on an adequacy decision where one exists, or otherwise on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more detail about the safeguards applying to a specific transfer.

How long we keep information

  • Enquiries and applications. Kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards to maintain a record of our dealings, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Newsletter subscriptions. Kept until you unsubscribe, plus a minimal record of the unsubscribe so we do not contact you again in error.
  • Engagement and financial records. Kept for the periods required by law and professional obligations.

Security

Information submitted through this site is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in a managed database protected by access controls, so that records are reachable only by our authorised team and the systems acting on our behalf. Access is limited to the people who need it. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive personal details through the contact form.

Marketing and unsubscribing

We send updates only to people who asked for them. Every update includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time by writing to info@equinexuspartners.com. Unsubscribing from updates does not affect our ability to reply to an enquiry you have sent us.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to request a portable copy, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, write to info@equinexuspartners.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we aim to respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@equinexuspartners.com so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), in Kenya the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, and in Zimbabwe the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority as data protection authority.
