Our Work

Institutional change and leadership practice, connected.

Equinexus works with institutions and the people who lead them. Our work can begin with a diagnostic question, a strategic or governance challenge, a leadership need or a question that needs to be explored with others. An engagement may draw on one area or combine several, depending on what the work reveals.

01 Diagnostics

Practice

Diagnostics

A structured examination of a leadership, team, board or institutional question, with findings to inform the next decision. We compare perspectives, examine evidence in context and keep differences and uncertainties visible rather than forcing premature agreement.

02 Advisory

Practice

Advisory

Support to shape and implement strategy, governance arrangements, organisational changes, transitions and partnerships. We examine formal arrangements alongside the history, relationships and influence that shape how an institution actually works.

03 Depthwork

Practice

Depthwork

An African grounded leadership practice that works with live leadership challenges. Participants examine how experience, identity, authority, relationships and institutional conditions influence how they lead, then develop responses to test in practice.

04 Nexus Exchange

Practice

Nexus Exchange

A platform for convenings, collaborative inquiry, research and publishing partnerships around questions that extend beyond one institution. It creates space for practitioners, researchers and institutions to develop knowledge together and make it useful beyond the room.

Integration

One challenge can require more than one kind of work.

Illustrative example: executive transition

Diagnostics

Examine where board, leadership and team expectations align or differ.

Advisory

Clarify roles, decision rights, handover arrangements and implementation.

Depthwork

Support incoming or outgoing leaders to work through identity, authority, relationships and judgement within the transition.

The scope follows the institution's needs rather than forcing every engagement through the same sequence of services.

Method

Nexus Arc®

Reveal, Reframe, Rebuild, Regenerate.

The four movements connect inquiry, decisions, implementation and learning. They can repeat as the work develops. The purpose is not to impose a fixed process, but to move deliberately from understanding to action and review.

  1. 1

    Reveal

Examine evidence, experience, strengths and different interpretations.

  2. 2

    Reframe

Test assumptions and choose a considered way to proceed.

  3. 3

    Rebuild

Develop and implement agreed changes in responsibilities and practice.

  4. 4

    Regenerate

Review experience, learn and adapt so useful practice is sustained.
